It was created by Daniel Écija and Álex Pina, and starred numerous actors; primarily Paco Tous and Pepón Nieto.
The series focused on a group of police officers in San Antonio, a fictitious neighborhood in Madrid. The precinct is overseen by Don Lorenzo Castro Riquelme, while the titular character of Francisco "Paco" Miranda Ramos is one of the working officers. The series was notable, especially internationally, for having seasons six through eight center on a lesbian relationship and marriage between officer María Jose "Pepa" Miranda Ramos (played by Laura Sánchez) and forensic scientist Silvia Castro León (played by Marián Aguilera).
