Acanthus ilicifolius, commonly known as Holly-leaved Acanthus, Sea Holly, and Holy Mangrove is a species of shrubs or herbs, of the plant family Acanthaceae, native to Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Macao, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Timor-Leste, Vietnam and Pacific Islands. It is a small shrub growing along lakes and marshes and sea shores. It is used as medicine in asthma and rheumatism.
