Somos tú y yo: un nuevo día is an Venezuelan teen drama series based on the 1978 film Grease, directed by Randal Kleiser, which in turn is based on the musical by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey 1971 of the same name. The series stars Sheryl Rubio and Víctor Drija. It debuted in its country of origin, Latin America and Europe on August 17, 2009.
Somos tú y yo, un nuevo día revolves around in the 50s, and where the guys fighting for popularity in the Granadillo Academy. Sheryl Sanchez (Sheryl Rubio) is the leader of the group 'Las Reinas' the most beautiful girls and popular Academy, where he meets Victor Rodriguez (Victor Drija) her ex-boyfriend, who left a couple of years ago and never he came back. With this, Aran Gutierrez (Aran de las Casas), leader of 'Los Tigres' takes advantage to win Sheryl, while Rosmery Rivas (Rosmeri Marval), a very good mechanics, falls in love with Victor and is definitely separate it from Sheryl. Adventure, romance, fun, challenges and confrontations are carried out in this story.
In 2008, once commissioned by the company the pilot episode, they announced that the protagonists of the series would be Sheryl Rubio and Victor Drija. The pilot was written and directed by Vladimir Perez at the beginning of the end of 2008 and accepted by Boomerang and Venevisión in early 2009. The series was based on the American film, Grease, directed by Randal Kleiser and starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. The film is in turn inspired by the eponymous musical 1972 created by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey and released for the first time in 1971, at the Kingston Mines Theatre in Chicago, a theater located in a former tram depot.
