Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts is a Dubai-based international luxury hotel chain and part of Dubai Holding.
The Jumeirah Group was created in 1997 and joined the Dubai Holding in 2004.
Professional golfer Rory McIlroy was the company's global ambassador from 2007 to 2012.
In 2011, the Jumeirah Shanghai hotel opened. As of 2012, Jumeirah's expansion plans include projects currently under development in India, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, China, Jordan, Qatar, Thailand, Egypt, Morocco, Indonesia, Azerbaijan and the Caribbean.
In 2016, the Jumeirah Group announced its expansion plan of 10 hotels in Asia, including 8 in China. In December 2016, Gerald Lawless, the president and CEO of the Jumeirah hotels for 18 years, stepped down, replaced by Stefan Leser.
Jumeirah's activities include management of Wild Wadi Waterpark, spa brand Talise, Jumeirah Restaurants (the company's restaurant division) and runs both The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management and Jumeirah Hospitality.
The Jumeirah Group is part of Dubai Holding which is majority-owned by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The president and CEO of Jumeirah Group is Stefan Leser.
