DYMX, branded as 95.5 Star FM Cebu, is a commercial FM radio station owned and operated by Consolidated Broadcasting System, Inc. under Bombo Radyo Philippines. The station's studio, offices and transmitter is located at 140 M. Velez St., Cebu City. It operates 24/7 and except for Holy Week of each year where it goes off air at 3:00 PM of Good Friday and lasts until 4:00 AM of Easter Sunday. As of September 2016, the station is operating with a transmitting power of 5,000 watts with good signal reception.
DYMX was inaugurated by Consolidated Broadcasting System in August 1995 as 95.5 Gentle Wind, which carrying easy listening format. It would compete with its Manila-based radio station 102.7 WSM The Gentle Wind from May 1987 to August 1994. After almost 3 years, 95.5 Gentle Wind was signed-off in September 1998.
On September 28, 1998, Bombo Radyo Network rebranded the station as 95.5 Star FM. The new format played OPM songs, along with foreign songs and news. The station started with "masa" trend in FM stations. Presently, the station plays classics every Sunday, and the new hits and OPM every Monday to Saturday.
In 2016, Star FM Cebu and its provincial stations launched its new logo and tagline, "It's All For You". At the same time, the station flipped from Hot AC to its well-crafted playlist of particularly love songs, whether Classic hits and soft rock music, to make it quite similar to 96.3 Easy Rock (in Manila) and 96.3 WRocK (in Cebu) and aside from that, it was added its format to Contemporary Hit Radio (Top 40) and OPM songs of the present.
