Ubisoft Kiev is a Ukrainian video game developer based in Kiev, Ukraine. The company is owned and operated by Ubisoft. It is one of Ubisoft's Eastern European games studios, along with Ubisoft Bucharest and Ubisoft Sofia.
Opening of the studio was officially announced in April 2008. Originally meant to co-operate with Ubisoft Bucharest, the Ukrainian studio proceeded to become an independent game developer. Some of the developers were trained at Ubisoft Bucharest, and worked there on porting the arcade flight simulator Blazing Angels 2: Secret Missions of WWII from Xbox 360 to PC prior to the opening of the studio.
In March 2009, a port of the Xbox 360 game Tom Clancy's HAWX was released on PC with the help of six of Ubisoft Kiev's employees. As of March 2010 the team included 16 people, with the possibility of future expansion. In an interview later that year for the Russian gaming website PlayGround.ru it was revealed that the studio was working on adding support for the game engine, developed by the Ubisoft, as well as porting unannounced games for the PC and Mac OS versions of games and collaborating with other Ubisoft studios.
Since then, the studio specialised in bringing Ubisoft’s releases to home computers. It had worked on titles including From Dust, Driver: San Francisco, Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Assassin's Creed III and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Assassin's Creed Unity ,Far Cry 4, Assassin's Creed Rogue and Trials Fusion. The company also collaborated with Massive Entertainment to support Uplay.
