Judas Priest concert chronology |
The Stained Class Tour was a 1978 concert tour by British heavy metal band Judas Priest where they toured in the U.K., the U.S., & Japan (for the 1st time ever) from January 19 to August 5, 1978 in support of the album Stained Class.
The English Assassins were the opening act during the U.K. leg of the tour.
On March 10 & 11, the band supported Angel at The Palladium in New York City. After that, the band supported Foghat (headliner) & B.T.O. (special guest) mostly in Texas along with shows in Kansas City, Tulsa, & Oklahoma City throughout the rest of March. The band then supported Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush for a couple of shows in California.
The 1979 singles "Take on the World" & "Evening Star" feature live performances of "Beyond the Realms of Death", "Starbreaker," & "White Heat, Red Hot" recorded at the May 9, 1978 show in Cleveland. These same tracks are also featured on Priest, Live and Rare. "Better By You, Better Than Me" appears as a bonus track on the 2001 release of Stained Class which was recorded live at The Forum in Los Angeles on September 13, 1990.
