Sherburne is a village in Chenango County, New York, United States. The population was 1,367 at the 2010 census. It is in the town of Sherburne, north of Norwich.
The first settlement of the town of Sherburne took place near the present-day village around 1792. The village of Sherburne was incorporated in 1830.
Sherburne is located slightly southwest of the geographic center of the town of Sherburne, at 42°40′45″N 75°29′51″W / 42.67917°N 75.49750°W (42.679302, -75.497518).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.5 square miles (3.9 km2). None of the area is covered with water.
The Chenango River, a south-flowing tributary of the Susquehanna River, forms the western boundary of the village.
The intersection of Route 12 (North and South Main Street) and NY-80 is in the village. NY 12 leads south 11 miles (18 km) to Norwich, the county seat, and north 36 miles (58 km) to Utica. NY 80 leads east 12 miles (19 km) to New Berlin and west 13 miles (21 km) to Otselic.
