Seriate is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Bergamo in the Italian region of Lombardy, located about 50 kilometres (31 mi) northeast of Milan and about 4 kilometres (2 mi) southeast of Bergamo. As of 31 December 2010, it had a population of 24,297 and an area of 12.4 square kilometres (4.8 sq mi).
The municipality of Seriate contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Comonte, Cassinone and Paderno.
Seriate borders the following municipalities: Albano Sant'Alessandro, Bagnatica, Bergamo, Brusaporto, Calcinate, Cavernago, Gorle, Grassobbio, Orio al Serio, Pedrengo.
Seriate received the honorary title of city with a presidential decree on October 2, 1989.
