Palutena

The following is a list of characters in the Kid Icarus franchise.

Pit is the main character in the Kid Icarus franchise.

In the first Kid Icarus video game, he was a prisoner of the Underworld when Palutena contacted him. After escaping from the Underworld, Pit went on a quest to save all of Angel Land from Medusa: Goddess of Darkness by seeking out the Three Sacred Treasures. Pit succeeds in his quest by defeating Medusa and freeing Palutena.

In Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters, Pit is summoned by Palutena when all of Angel Land is threatened by the demon Orcus. Pit once again searches for the Three Sacred Treasures in order to defeat Orcus.

In Kid Icarus: Uprising, Pit once again faces off against Medusa and eventually discovers that she was just a pawn of Hades. In this addition to the franchise, Pit's new character design was introduced in a Kid Icarus game. His personality was revealed as kind, loyal, and somewhat childish. As one plays through the game, it can be seen that Pit always comes through for his comrades and will do anything for Lady Palutena and her kingdom.

Pit is also one of the supporting characters in Captain N: The Game Master where he was referred to as Kid Icarus and has the habit of adding "-icus" to the end of some of his words.

Pit is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.

Pit is voiced by Alessandro Juliani in Captain N: The Game Master, Lani Minella in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and by Antony Del Rio in Kid Icarus: Uprising and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.

Palutena is the Goddess of Light, the rightful ruler of Skyworld, and the eponymous character of the Kid Icarus franchise in Japan (光神話 パルテナの鏡 Hikari Shinwa Parutena no Kagami, translated as "Light Mythology: Palutena's Mirror"). She is kind-hearted, benevolent and sometimes playful and mischievous, as shown in her conversations with her angel companion, Pit. In the storyline of the first Kid Icarus, Palutena and Medusa were the goddesses of light and darkness respectively, and together they ruled over a realm known as Angel Land. Palutena cared for and loved humanity, but her dark counterpart, Medusa, loathed humans, and took great pleasure in turning them into stone, as well as poisoning their crops. Angered by this, Palutena cursed Medusa by transforming her into a hideous monster and banshined her to the underworld. But unbeknownst to Palutena, Medusa would ally with the inhabitants of the Underworld, and plot her revenge against her light counterpart and her army. But when Palutena is captured by Medusa and the Underworld Army, she sends out a distress call to her angelic captain of her guard, Pit, to rescue her and defeat Medusa. Palutena managed to deliver her sacred bow to her captain, allowing Pit to escape the Underworld Dungeon, who proceeded to work his way from the Underworld all the way up to the Palace in the Sky, and, using the Three Sacred Treasures he collected along the way, destroyed the goddess of darkness and rescued Palutena.
