Juuka (Swedish: Juga) is a municipality of Finland.
It is located in the province of Eastern Finland and is part of the North Karelia region. The municipality has a population of 5,022 (31 March 2016) and covers an area of 1,501.70 square kilometres (579.81 sq mi) of which 344.78 km2 (133.12 sq mi) is water. The population density is 3.34 inhabitants per square kilometre (8.7/sq mi).
Neighbouring municipalities are Kuopio, Kaavi, Kontiolahti, Lieksa, Nurmes, Polvijärvi and Rautavaara.
The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
Literally juuka means that kind of lake where is a river that flows through a lake.
River Vaikkojoki (more than 60 km) goes from Lake Vaikkojärvi to Lake Rikkavesi, which is in Kaavi.
