France was represented by Noëlle Cordier, with the song '"Il doit faire beau là-bas", at the 1967 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 8 April in Vienna. The song was chosen from 98 songs that were submitted. It is not known how many songs made it into the final or any details about the final apart from those listed below. The broadcaster ORTF. 1. Mireille Mathieu had previously sung this song at the 1966 French final. "La Source" was written by Guy Bonnet, Henri Djian and Daniel Faure and would go on to become the French entry of 1968 Vicky Leandros is from Greece and sang for Luxembourg at the 1967 Eurovision Song Contest

On the night of the final Cordier performed 4th in the running order, following Austria and preceding Portugal. "Il doit faire beau là-bas" was an intricately structured, atmospheric song with a sophisticated musical arrangement. At the close of voting it had picked up 20 points (the highest being 4s from Sweden and Yugoslavia), placing France third of the 17 entries. The French jury awarded 7 of its 10 points to contest winners the United Kingdom.
