Arc System Works Co., Ltd. (アークシステムワークス株式会社 Āku Shisutemu Wākusu kabushiki gaisha?) is a video game developer and publisher based in Yokohama, Japan. Founded by Minoru Kidooka in 1988, Arc System Works is best known for its arcade 2D fighting game franchises, Guilty Gear and BlazBlue.
Founded in 1988, it spent its early years as a contract developer for Sega, Sammy and Banpresto. On 11 June 2015, Arc System Works announced they had acquired all intellectual properties of Technōs Japan from Million Co., Ltd. On 6 February 2017, Arc System Works announced that they had acquired the rights to the Jake Hunter, Theresia, Nazo no Jikenbo, and Koneko no Ie series from developer WorkJam.
