Hires Big H


Hires Big H is a restaurant chain headquartered in Sandy, Utah.

Hires Drive-In was founded in 1959 by Don Hale, a former grocer, with the assistance of his wife Shirley Hickman. In addition to the flagship branch located near the center of Salt Lake City, there are additional locations in Midvale and West Valley City.

Noted for honoring the tradition of the drive-in restaurants of the 1950s—both in its menu and interior decoration—the restaurants have achieved national recognition in publications like the American Automobile Association's Via magazine. Like many other Utah restaurants, it offers the regional condiment called fry sauce. Hires fry sauce can be found in local grocery stores around the state.

Don Hale died of natural causes at the age of 93 on Saturday, January 29, 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Huddle House is an American chain of 24-hour diner-style restaurants with over 360 locations in 21 states, primarily found in the Southern United States. The chain was started in 1964 in Decatur, Georgia by John Sparks, with the goal of providing a 24-hour eatery. It is named after the act of huddling in football. The original Huddle House in Decatur was established to give fans a place to eat after "the big game" on Friday nights. Its competitors include, Waffle House, IHOP, Cracker Barrel, Denny's, and Bob Evans.

Huddle House opened their first 24-hour restaurant in April 1964 in Decatur, Georgia. In 1966, they began actively franchising. The company now expands primarily through franchising, but also continues to operate company units. The combined organization has continued to expand and today encompasses more than 400 units throughout the traditional South and new development areas opening in the Mid-Atlantic, Mid-West, and the Southwestern United States. In 2001, Huddle House was awarded the "Hot Again" award by Nation's Restaurant News as the #1 revitalized brand in America.

In 2006, Huddle House was acquired by Allied Capital. In 2009, Ares Capital acquired Allied Capital. In 2012, Ares sold Huddle House to Sentinel Capital Partners.

The company signed a lease agreement with Pilot Flying J in late 2011 to operate Huddle House locations within several Pilot Flying J locations. In addition to opening locations in Huddle House's traditional footprint in Kansas and Oklahoma, the deal also included Huddle House's first location in Fargo, North Dakota, its northernmost reach to date.

In addition to Kansas and Oklahoma, Huddle House has locations in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Hot Sam Pretzels was a chain of soft pretzel franchises in the United States.

Hot Sam began in Michigan. The first one was opened at Livonia Mall by Julius Young.

It was sold to General Host, then-owners of Frank's Nursery & Crafts, in 1971 and sold again in 1986.

Located mainly in malls, the chain was acquired by Mrs. Fields in 1995. Mrs. Field's purchased Pretzel Time in 1996 and merged the two chains under the Pretzel Time brand. The last 10 locations were converted in 2005.

Hunt Brothers Pizza was established in 1991 and is based in Nashville, Tennessee, although its roots go back to 1962 when four brothers from Evansville, Indiana – Don, Lonnie, Jim and Charlie Hunt – began a local wholesale food route named Pepe's Pizza, which distributed par-baked pizza crusts and other pizza items to restaurants, taverns, bowling alleys and drive-in theaters. By 1994, the brand had over 750 locations. By 2015, the company had partnered with the Army and Air Force Exchange Service to open five stores on U. S. bases in Germany.

Hunt Brothers Pizza program was developed for convenience stores as food service destination within each store. The program has no franchise fees, royalty fees or advertising fees and offers marketing support to bring in a profit, a simple prepared consistent pizza as well as customizable point of sale presentations that complement the location's existing footprint, which is often in a rural area.

The company stresses a culture of faith with a strong sense of giving back by helping families recover from natural disasters, working with churches and school groups, and offers an organized fundraising program to help their customers raise money for local organizations.

Hunt Brothers Pizza is also the official pizza of Eldora Speedway,Bridgestone Arena and the corresponding Nashville Predators, and Minor League Baseball's Nashville Sounds, Jackson Generals, Memphis Redbirds, Lexington Legends and Rupp Arena.
