Zhu Jun (Han Dynasty)

Zhu Jun
Traditional Chinese 朱儁
Simplified Chinese 朱俊

Zhu Jun (died 195), courtesy name Gongwei (公伟), was a politician during the late Han Dynasty period of Chinese history.

Zhu Jun achieved a number of victories over the rebels including his victory (assisted by Liu Bei and his brothers) in defeating Zhang Bao, one of the three Yellow Turban leaders. Due to his service, he was promoted to General of the Flying Cavalry, the second highest position in Chinese imperial army at that time after Regent Marshal (held by He Jin) and equal to General of the Flying Chariots (which was awarded to Huangfu Song). Unfortunately, he held the position for less than one year before he was purged from the office in 189 by the corrupt eunuchs.

He fought in many battles, and was a friend of Sun Jian. He recommended Sun Jian to the imperial court. In 195, Zhu Jun fell ill and never recovered. Zhu Jun died of illness. He had one son, Zhu Fu.

As a character in Luo Guanzhong's historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, he was attributed certain actions that he did not carry out.
