Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 is a golfing video game in the PGA Tour series from Electronic Arts. It was released in North America on August 26, 2008 for the Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Wii, and PSP. The PS3 version takes advantage of the Sixaxis controller. While retaining many influences from the other games in the series, it also adds new game play and a few fictitious golfers such as Travis Knox. The Wii version is called Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 All-Play, as part of EA Sports' new brand for their Wii games from 2009.
The Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii versions received "favorable" reviews, while the PlayStation 2 and PSP versions received "mixed" reviews, according to video game review aggregator Metacritic. In Japan, Famitsu gave the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions a score of one six, one seven, one six and one seven, for a total of 26 out of 40; the same magazine later gave the Wii version a better score of one seven, one eight, one seven and one eight, for a total of 30 out of 40.
The Wii version was nominated for several Wii-specific awards by IGN in its 2008 video game awards, including Best Sports Game, Best Local Multiplayer Game, Best Online Multiplayer Game, and Best Use of the Wii-Mote.
