Sopot (Serbian Cyrillic: Сопот, pronounced [sɔ̂pɔːt]) is a suburban municipality of the city of Belgrade. Its name derives from the old Slavic word for spring (sr. izvor). According to the 2011 census results, the municipality has a population of 20,199 inhabitants.
It is located near the mountain Kosmaj. The municipality has a large primary and economics high school, one of the largest in the Balkans. Sopot has a soccer club called the Wolves from Kosmaj and a basketball club, also called the Wolves from Kosmaj.
Since 1972, an annual film festival "Sofest" has been held.
