Sekolah Sultan Alam Shah (in Malay), SAS or Sekolah Alam Shah, is a premier residential school in Malaysia. It is located at Precinct 1, Putrajaya. The school was previously situated in Bandar Tun Razak, a suburb in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur for 41 years, before moving to Putrajaya in 2003. The school is one of the only two boarding school in Malaysia that are under royal patronage. Its patron is HRH the Sultan of Selangor. In 2010,the school was awarded with the Sekolah Berprestasi Tinggi or High Performance School title, a title awarded to the 20 schools in Malaysia that have met stringent criteria including academic achievement, strength of alumni, international recognition, network and linkages. The school is specialised in rugby and wind orchestra. The school performance in the 2015 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia examination is the best in Putrajaya, rank 7th in Sekolah Berasrama Penuh (SBP) and 10th overall in Malaysia with GPS 1.67.

SAS was established as a result of the National Education Policy under the Razak Report of 1958. The Malay vernacular secondary school system began in 1958; SAS was the first Malay school to offer Form 6 (pre-university) classes, and was the first Malay Medium boarding school or Sekolah Berasrama Penuh (SBP).

The construction of the school was planned together with that of the Maktab Perguruan Ilmu Khas (MPIK) (Special Teachers' Training College), Jalan Cheras in 1958; however this was delayed to 1961. The school was completed in 1962, at a cost of RM1.3 million. On 7 February 1963, the school enrolled its first students. The first principal was Mr. Halimi bin Haji Sharbaini and his name is now given to one of SAS' residences, Halimi. On 7 March 1964, the school was officially opened by His Majesty the then Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Alhaj ibni Almarhum Sultan Hisamuddin Alam Shah, with the Selangor Menteri Besar and the Minister of Education.
