Richard Lam Chun-Keung was a Cantopop lyricist with several hundred Cantopop songs to his name, and a columnist for Apple Daily and Next Magazine in Hong Kong. He is a Hakka of Huizhou, Guangdong ancestry.

Lam graduated from Salesian English School in Hong Kong and the University of California, Berkeley. He started out as a copywriter for an advertising agency owned by Wong Jim and Lam's sister Eunice. Lam was inspired by Wong to become a lyrics writer.

Lam was hired as creative director for Giordano clothing chain in 1988 by the then-owner Jimmy Lai. When Jimmy Lai entered into the media industry, Lam followed him, becoming a consultant and later a columnist for Apple Daily and Next Magazine.

Between 1980s and the 1990s, Richard Lam wrote more than a thousand pieces of lyrics until the 2000s. He slowed down on writing lyrics subsequent to being diagnosed with lymphoma. He died on 16 November 2003.
