The Pujiang line (simplified Chinese: 浦江线; traditional Chinese: 浦江線; pinyin: Pǔjiāng Xiàn) is an automated, driverless, rubber-tyred Shanghai Metro line currently under construction in the town of Pujiang, in the Shanghai district of Minhang. It was originally conceived as phase 3 of Shanghai Metro Line 8, but will instead operate as a separate line and interchange with Line 8 at its southern terminus, Shendu Highway. The line is under non-public trial operation and is expected to open in the first quarter of 2018. It is the first automated, driverless people mover line in the Shanghai Metro, and will feature 6 stations with a total length of 6.689 kilometres (4.156 mi). It will be colored grey on station maps.
The line will be operated by Shanghai Keolis Public Transport Operation Management Co. Ltd. (Chinese: 上海申凯公共交通运营管理有限公司), a share-held company raised by Keolis and Shentong Metro, for at least 5 years after it is open to public.
The Pujiang line will use rubber-tyred Bombardier Innovia APM 300 trains. The trains will have 4 cars each, totaling 51 metres (167 ft) in length, with capacity for 566 passengers per train. On 13 January 2017, Bombardier delivered the first out of 44 autonomous people movers to Shanghai.
