Primera is a town in Cameron County, Texas, United States, near Combes. The population was 4,070 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Brownsville–Harlingen–Raymondville and the Matamoros–Brownsville metropolitan areas.

Primera is located in western Cameron County at 26°13′23″N 97°45′5″W / 26.22306°N 97.75139°W / 26.22306; -97.75139 (26.223152, -97.751470). It is 3 miles (5 km) northwest of the center of Harlingen.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.6 square miles (6.8 km2), all of it land.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2,723 people, 735 households, and 659 families residing in the town. The population density was 1,772.4 people per square mile (682.7/km²).
