Malalbergo is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Bologna in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 30 kilometres (19 mi) northeast of Bologna. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 7,911 and an area of 53.8 square kilometres (20.8 sq mi).
The municipality of Malalbergo contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Altedo, Ponticelli, Pegola, and Casoni.
Malalbergo borders the following municipalities: Baricella, Bentivoglio, Galliera, Minerbio, Poggio Renatico, San Pietro in Casale.
