Kolangal is a 2003 Indian Tamil-language soap opera on Sun TV. It is a Prime time serial. The show aired from 29 May 2003 to 4 December 2009 for 1533 episodes. It aired Monday through Friday at 9:00PM. The show stars by Devayani, Nalini, Chandra Lakshman, Deepa Venkat, Poornima Indrajith, Abhishek, V. Thiruselvam, Ajay, Yugendran and Kuyili.
The show is produced by Vikatan Televistas director by V. Thiruselvam. The title track was composed by D. Imman and sung by Harini. It was also airs in Tamil on Sri Lanka's Shakthi TV and United Kingdom's Tharisanam TV. It holds the record for the longest running Tamil serial.
The story centers on Abhi, a hard working, ambitious woman with strong beliefs. and her business rival and half brother, Aditya. abhi with her 2 sisters leads a normal life though she tries to keep herself happy that she has a dark past life that her father abandoned her and her mother & married other one settled himself as business tycoon. Abhi Accepts marriage ,gets married,but marriage turns disaster. then she tries to recoup and lift up herself. life is drastically changed when her aditya step brother abuses her more, that she is not treated even like sister but considered as sworn rivals.abhi escapes from his brother's tortures and puts an end to her injustice.at last scene abhi with the help of her friend tholkappian leads a friendly and recluse life. abhi starts to help orphanage,thereby ending she couldn't help herself but she wishes to be dear among orphans even though they are not known to them.
