"Killing Loneliness" is a song released by the Finnish band HIM, released in February 2006 in Germany and in April in the UK as a single from their 2005 breakthrough Dark Light. The song, along with "Wings of a Butterfly", is one of the band's best known songs in the United States.
On the 11 May 2006 episode of Loveline, Ville Valo confirmed that the song was inspired by skateboarder Brandon Novak, who blamed his heroin addiction on a need to, as he put it, "kill the loneliness". This song is playable in Rock Band 3.
There are two versions of the song's music video: a European and U.S. version. The U.S. version of "Killing Loneliness" was filmed in April 2006 and released in May. Making a guest appearance in the video is tattoo artist Kat Von D, known from the reality television series LA Ink and Miami Ink.
