Kartarpur (Urdu: کرتارپور‎) is located in tehsil Shakargarh, Narowal District, Punjab, Pakistan.

The population Punjabi speaking Punjabi, Urdu and educated also speak English. The ethnic groups include majority Gujjars Jats and Rajputs.

The population is predominantly Muslim. There are several mosques in the town. After the independence of Pakistan in 1947, the minority Hindus and Sikhs migrated to India while many Muslims refugees from India settled down in Kartarpur.

Kartarpur was established by Guru Nanak Dev ji in 1522, and is the location of Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib, the first Gurdwara ever built, where Guru Nanak is said to have died.
