Karachevsky District (Russian: Кара́чевский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the twenty-seven in Bryansk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the east of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,408 square kilometers (544 sq mi). Its administrative center is the town of Karachev. Population: 36,036 (2010 Census); 37,857 (2002 Census);41,428 (1989 Census). The population of Karachev accounts for 54.7% of the district's total population.
