International availability of Fanta


Fanta is a global brand of fruit-flavoured soft drink from the Coca-Cola Company. There are over 90 flavours worldwide; however, most of them are only available by region in some countries.

Note: As of September 2, 2012, Fanta is selling again in the country, After 10 years being unavailable in the Colombian market, with three new flavors Orange, Grape and Apple.

As is common in Southeast Asia, the sugar content of these flavours is much higher than those of the rest of the world, giving the drinks quite a different taste from that of similar flavours elsewhere in the world.

On April 21, 2008 CocaCola put a new product on the market called Fanta FuruFuru Shaker (ファンタ ふるふるシェイカー). It is provided in smaller cans (190ml and 235ml) and consists of two elements: "carbon acid" and a "jelly" substance. You have to shake the can, before drinking it. This product was aimed at teenagers and Fanta lovers, but the drink has become popular with salarymen. After a short run this product was discontinued and brought back for another short run in 2011. This product is once again out of production.

In Rwanda, it is common to refer to all soft carbonated drinks as Fanta. Beverages which are not part of the Fanta range are also frequently preceded by the word Fanta, for example Fanta Coca for Coca-Cola, and Fanta Sprite.

As common in the south east part of Asia, the sugar content of these flavours is much higher than in the rest of the world, giving the drinks a quite different taste compared to similar flavours around the rest of the world.

It is called Fanta Cannings in Trinidad and Tobago.

Note: Orange, Icy Lemon, Fruit Twist, Zero Orange, Zero Icy Lemon and Zero Fruit Twist contain artificial sweeteners. Raspberry and Passionfruit and Apple and Sour Cherry contain Stevia.
