The giant roundleaf bat (Hipposideros gigas) is a species of bat in the family Hipposideridae found in Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, the Republic of the Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, and Togo. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and caves. The species was formerly considered part of H. commersoni, which is now viewed as being restricted to Madagascar. It is threatened by habitat loss.
