Godavarikhani is a city in Peddapalli district of the Indian state of Telangana state. It is located on the banks of Godavari River and hence, the name Godavari Khani (Khani=mines). This city is popular for its coal mines, controlled mostly by SCCL. The main source of income for most of the inhabitants is the wage provided by SCCL.
Godavarikhani (GDK) TSRTC depot ply buses to surrounding villages and to various parts of the state.Its a good revenue region for TSRTC from 1987 till now. This city bus has good bus connectivity directly to many cities like Bengaluru, Guntur, Vishakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Tirupathi, Warangal, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Jagtial, Kurnool, Bhadrachalam, Khammam, Kadapa, Rajahmundry, Srisailam, Narsampet, Manuguru, Mancherial, Nellore, Hanmakonda, Thorrur, Bodhan, Bhupalpalle Kothagudem, Amalapuram.There is direct connectivity of Four Lane Express Highway road from Hyderabad - Karimnagar - Ramagundam Highway which is called Rajeev Rahadari (SH-1).
