Glória Maria Rebelo Ferrante Perez (Brazilian Portuguese: [ˈɡlɔɾja ˈpɛɾis]) (born September 25, 1948) is a Brazilian telenovela writer born in Rio Branco, Acre, Brazil. In 2009, she won an International Emmy in the Telenovela category for India – A Love Story.

Her only daughter, Daniella Perez, was a famous actress and was killed while acting in her mother's telenovela De Corpo e Alma in December, 1992.

Glória Maria Rebelo Ferrante was born on September 25, 1948, in Rio de Janeiro. His father was the lawyer Miguel Jeronimo Ferrante, and his mother, Maria Augusta Rebelo Ferrante. Both were born and lived in Rio Branco, Acre, where the daughter returned shortly after his birth and where he remained until 16 years. Then moved with his family to Brasilia, then to São Paulo and finally to Rio de Janeiro, where he married. He studied law and philosophy at the University of Brasilia and graduated in history at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.

She began her writing career in Rede Globo in 1979, where she wrote a synopsis for an episode of the series Malu Mulher. The episode was never recorded but, years later, drew the attention of Janete Clair, who invited Gloria Perez to work as his assistant in the telenovela Eu Prometo (1983). Starred by Francisco Cuoco in the role Deputy Lucas Cantomaia, the telenovela addressed the backstage of Brazilian politics, and was the last work of Janete Clair, she died later that year cancer victim. Perez had to finish alone write the plot, under the supervision of Dias Gomes.
