Daniella Perez (Rio de Janeiro, August 11, 1970 - Rio de Janeiro, December 28, 1992) was a Brazilian actress. She was daughter of Glória Perez, one of the most important tv series writers in Brazil. Perez was murdered at the age of 22 by the actor Guilherme de Pádua, her workmate in the telenovela "De Corpo e Alma".
Guilherme de Pádua and his wife, Paula Thomaz, killed Daniella probably because Paula Thomaz was jealous about the acting of Guilherme de Pádua and Daniella Perez in the telenovela. They portrayed a couple in "De Corpo e Alma". Guilherme de Pádua stabbed Daniella Perez 18 times in a vacant lot near Americas Avenue in the neighborhood of Barra da Tijuca, west zone of Rio de Janeiro. Paula Thomaz was pregnant by the occasion and their son was born in May 1993. The couple remained in jail until 1999 but got divorced before that. Later, they both married other people. Paula Thomaz studied law. Guilherme de Pádua became a minister in a Protestant church in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
"De Corpo e Alma" was still in production when Daniella Perez was killed. Guilherme de Pádua's character, named Bira, simply disappeared immediately after the crime was solved and was no longer even commented in the plot. Daniella Perez's character, named Yasmin, was kept alive. Her scenes were displayed until January 19, 1993. In the end of the chapter on this day, a tribute was paid to the actress with testimony of the actors that worked with her and of the director of the telenovela. Some weeks later, it was commented in the plot that Yasmin would be travelling abroad.
In the last chapter, on March 6, 1993, a letter written by Daniella Perez's mother and author of "De Corpo e Alma", Glória Perez, was read. The soap opera ended two months before the planned date because of the crime.
