DreamWorks Channel is a television network that is owned and operated by DreamWorks Animation International TV, a subsidiary of NBCUniversal.
Singapore-based broadcaster HBO Asia was contracted to handle marketing, sales and technical services for the channel. Given that its programming is already involved in other arrangements in the US with Netflix and others, a US channel is not likely.
DreamWorks Animation announced on December 9, 2014 plans to launch its own TV channel starting in Asia rolling out over 19 countries in the second half of 2015. DreamWorks Channel launched on August 1, 2015 in Thailand. The channel represents DWA's first foray into operating its own television channel in any part of the world as a result of a joint venture through CTH.
The content on the channel mainly consists of series produced by DreamWorks Animation SKG and DreamWorks Classics library. However, DWA's movies were not planned to air on the channel.
