Combes is a town in Cameron County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,895 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Brownsville–Harlingen–Raymondville and the Matamoros–Brownsville metropolitan areas.
Combes is located in northwestern Cameron County at 26°14′42″N 97°43′37″W / 26.24500°N 97.72694°W (26.245051, -97.727028).U.S. Route 77/Interstate 69E passes through the town, leading south 4 miles (6 km) to Harlingen and north 18 miles (29 km) to Raymondville.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 3.1 square miles (8.0 km2), of which 3.0 square miles (7.8 km2) is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km2), or 1.80%, is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 2,553 people, 775 households, and 626 families residing in the town. The population density was 1,034.6 people per square mile (399.1/km²). There were 1,039 housing units at an average density of 421.0 per square mile (162.4/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 80.38% White, 0.35% African American, 1.29% Native American, 0.27% Asian, 0.31% Pacific Islander, 15.08% from other races, and 2.31% from two or more races.
