Bauram is a big village (compared to neighbour villages) located at block/Tehsil Gaura Bauram, Darbhanga, Bihar. Village is situated about 60 km east to the district headquarter and 10 km east to the subdivisional headquarter.
Area (raqwa) of village Bauram is about 2400 Bighas (961 acre ~4 sq. km). Along with many small and big grass fields, many gardens(Qalam bagh), several rivers and private ponds (for pisciculture), chirping of birds, teamers of pets (cows, buffalos, goats etc.), the big and clear blue sky gives a mesmerizing and bewitching effect to the village Bauram.

A majority of the person living in village Bauram have involved themselves in agriculture. Mainly they grows paddies,wheat, barley, coriander, maize, moong, arhar, cucumber, sweet potato etc. In early days gram (chana) was also a good yield in village.

The lifestyle maintained by the people of village Bauram as well their working style are fascinating as the balance offered by the metropolitan lifestyle.

Bauram was settled at that time when India was under the rule of Mughal Empire by a Jagdeeshpur, Siwan's resident Laung Chaudhary. First he reached village 'Asi' (3–4 km west to the village). His second or third generation discovered this place when they were searching for their cattle's feed. Here they found aheap of green grass. They also start here living because here they can easily form their shelter as here was also aheap of reeds. Where they formed there shacks now that colony is known as "gaaon par (home)". As Laung Chaudhary was a Hindu (Brahmin) but he converted to a Muslim (seikh).

Village Bauram is the hope to the different cast and creeds which rightly demonstrate the principle of Unity in diversity.
There, in village which language is spoken is actually a mixed-up version of two languages Maithili and Magadhi. Both Hindu and Muslim have their own style of dialect.

In Hindus here two festivals are celebrated with special kind of enthusiasm are Durga puja and Chhath and Muslim celebrates Eid and Baqr-'Eid with such enthusiasm. In village there are eight mosques including Jama masjid (oldest mosque of village) and two temples Bhagwati asthan and Babaji kuti.
