Anbaran (Persian: عنبران‎‎, also Romanized as ‘Anbarān) is a city in and the capital of Anbaran District, in Namin County, Ardabil Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 6,161 with 1,532 families.

Anbaran is situated approximately 17 miles (27 km) north-northeast of Ardabil. The population consists of 9000 Talysh speakers. The people of Anbaran are Sunni Muslims. Anbaran consists of two districts which a main street separating them. North-Anbaran is a small village which is located in North-Eastern of town by 6 km distance between them. The name of Anbaran is probably extracted from fragrant annual herbs named Persian: عنبر‎‎, ‘ánbar. This plant is grown near to the joint frontier of Iran and Azerbaijan. There are various kinds of fruit trees, including apple, pear, almond, walnut, apricot, and peach. Among fruitless trees, poplar has the most acreage in Anbaran.

There are several big valleys and mountains for hiking toward the international borderline. Animal husbandry is also the most popular occupation of farmers.

There is another Anbaran in Iran that is a suburb of Mashhad, in the extreme northeast of the country.
