State Route 24 marker

State Route 24 (SR 24) is a 69.606-mile-long (112.020 km) state highway in the northwestern and north-central part of the state. The western terminus of the route is near Red Bay at the Mississippi state line, where it continues as Mississippi Highway 23. The eastern terminus of the route is at the junction with SR 67 at Decatur. The route is one of several segments that comprises Corridor V of the Appalachian Development Highway System. Once completed, Corridor V will provide a continuous route between Batesville, Mississippi and Chattanooga, Tennessee.

With the advent of Corridor V, much work has been done to improve the quality of SR 24. The highway has been re-routed to a new four-lane divided roadway between Russellville and Decatur. The highway travels through rural areas of Franklin County until it approaches Russellville. East of Russellville, the route leads towards Moulton and Decatur.
