The 2013–14 Ascenso MX season took place from July 19, 2013 to April 12, 2014 and was divided into two tournaments named Apertura 2013 and Clausura 2014. The Ascenso MX is the second-tier football league of Mexico.

The following 15 clubs will compete in the Liga de Ascenso during the 2013-2014 season:

The 2013 Apertura will be the first championship of the season. It began on July 19, 2013 and ended on November 30, 2013.

Rules for classification: 1) points; 2) goal difference; 3) number of goals scored
(C) = Champion; (R) = Relegated; (P) = Promoted; (E) = Eliminated; (O) = Play-off winner; (A) = Advances to a further round.
Only applicable when the season is not finished:
(Q) = Qualified to the phase of tournament indicated; (TQ) = Qualified to tournament, but not yet to the particular phase indicated; (RQ) = Qualified to the relegation tournament indicated; (DQ) = Disqualified from tournament.

The six best teams after the first place play two games against each other on a home-and-away basis. The winner of each match up is determined by aggregate score.If the teams are tied, the Away goals rule applies.

The teams were seeded one to seven in quarterfinals, and will be re-seeded one to four in semifinals, depending on their position in the general table. The higher seeded teams play on their home field during the second leg.
