Andy Murray won the tournament beating No.1 seed Novak Djokovic in the final, 6–4, 3–0 ret. It was the 7th ATP Masters 1000 title of Murray's career, and his first in 2011. Djokovic's retirement in the final marked only his second defeat of the season.
The top eight seeds receive a bye into the second round.
