1996 Birthday Honours


Queen's Birthday Honours are announced on or around the date of the Queen's Official Birthday in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. The dates vary, both from year to year and from country to country. All are published in supplements to the London Gazette and many are conferred by the monarch (or her representative) some time after the date of the announcement, particularly for those service people on active duty.

The 1996 Queen's Birthday honours list for the United Kingdom and Commonwealth was announced on 14 June 1996 for Australia was announced 9 June 1996, and the list for New Zealand was announced on 3 June 1996.

Following is the list of Honours for the Public Service Medal, Australian Police Medal and Australian Fire Service Medal - Public Service Medal (PSM) Awarded the Public Service Medal (For outstanding public service) Commonwealth Public Service

Awarded the Australian Police Medal (For distinguished police service) Australian Federal Police.

Awarded the Australian Fire Service Medal (For distinguished fire service) New South Wales Fire Services.

These vary from year to year but includes Barbados, Bahamas, Grenada, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Christopher and Nevis.
