Unstoppable (Sia song)

"Unstoppable" is a song by Australian singer-songwriter Sia Furler (often referred to mononymously as Sia), taken from her seventh studio album This Is Acting (2016). The song was written by Sia and Christopher Braide, and produced by Jesse Shatkin. It was released as the album's final promotional single on January 20, 2016. In July, a new version of the song was made for Gillette's 2016 Olympic ad campaign, "Pretty Isn't Perfect" which features a verse from Pusha T.

"Unstoppable" is the fifth track on Sia's 2016 album This Is Acting . It has been called a "stomping, empowering jam" and "swollen self-esteem anthem", with lyrics like, "I'm unstoppable, I'm a Porsche with no brakes / I'm invincible, I win every single game / I'm so powerful I don't need batteries to play / I'm so confident yeah I'm unstoppable today." The song was written by Sia, Christopher Braide, and produced by Jesse Shatkin.

Sia debuted "Unstoppable" on 20 January 2016, days before the album's 29 January release date. The song marked the sixth used to promote the album prior to its release.

"Unstoppable" has received mostly positive critical reception, with most reviewers commenting on its theme of empowerment. Jessie Morris of Complex commented that the song sounds like a "page torn right out of Demi Lovato's Confident book", while editors of other media platforms like Idolator noticed this as well, which raised speculation that the track was intentionally written for Lovato.Billboard's Jessica Katz said the song is reminiscent of work by Rihanna and "clearly follows in the lineage of emotional barn-burners that have become [Sia's] trademark".

Waterfall (Stargate song)

imageWaterfall (Stargate song)

"Waterfall" is the debut solo single by Norwegian production duo Stargate, featuring vocals by American singer Pink and Australian singer Sia. The song was released on 10 March 2017, by RCA Records.

The song was written by Stargate, alongside Diplo, Sia and Jr. Blender. It was reportedly Sia's idea to recruit P!nk for the song.

The song was originally conducted by Sia, in partnership with Diplo and Jr Blender, and was intended to give the song to Cashmere Cat for his debut album 9, with Sia credited as a featured artist. However, the track was rejected as the original tracklist for the album was leaked and Cashmere Cat scrapped most of the project, delaying the release date of the album. Sia, however, was determined to search for a worthy artist for the song and gave it to Stargate instead, recruiting P!nk along the way.

Stereogum's Peter Helman opined that the song "sounds very 2017."

The music video was released on 16 March 2017 featuring sky dancing by Inka Henriikka Tiitto and Amalie Hegland Lauritzen.Idolator noted that neither P!nk nor Sia appears in the video, which they called a "letdown."

Wolves (Kanye West song)

"Wolves" is a song by American rapper Kanye West, featuring Sia and Vic Mensa from his seventh studio album The Life of Pablo (2016). It was produced by Cashmere Cat and Sinjin Hawke and was originally planned to be the opening track to his seventh studio album, The Life of Pablo. West debuted the song on February 12, 2015 at a fashion show where he also premiered his new Adidas shoe. The presentation was broadcast live to more than 40 locations around the world. "Wolves" became the second confirmed track from the album and originally featured Sia and Vic Mensa. The initial album version introduced a new verse from West and an additional outro from Frank Ocean, omitting Sia and Vic Mensa's contributions. However, in March 2016, the album was updated with a new version of the song that reinstated Sia and Vic Mensa's verses. Frank Ocean's outro has been split into a separate track, titled "Frank's Track", which appears after "Wolves" on the track list.

"Wolves" was produced by Cashmere Cat and Sinjin Hawke and originally featured vocals by Australian singer and songwriter Sia and Chicago rapper Vic Mensa. The song has been described as "melancholic" and "somber" with a slower beat, a minimal arrangement, and a heavily Auto-Tuned bridge. The "lurching" chorus is performed by Vic Mensa and includes the lyrics, "I'm just bad. Bad for you." Sia performs a "bluesy" rendition of West's words approximately three minutes and fifteen seconds into the song.

The album version features a rap from West and a moody outro from Frank Ocean, replacing Vic Mensa and Sia's verses. An alternate version, however, was leaked online including Frank Ocean, Vic Mensa, and Sia. Unlike the album version, Frank Ocean's outro is featured at the start of the song, and West's rap is omitted.

In March 2016, over a month after the album's release, West updated the album's Tidal track list with a reworked version of "Wolves", which includes the previously removed vocals from Vic Mensa and Sia. The outro sung by Frank Ocean was split into a separate track called "Frank's Track".

You Have Been Loved (Sia song)

imageYou Have Been Loved (Sia song)

Some People Have Real Problems is the fourth studio album by Australian singer Sia. Released in 2008, the album featured singles including "Day Too Soon", "The Girl You Lost to Cocaine" and "Soon We'll Be Found". In live performances of the latter song, Sia used sign language to accompany her singing. The album displays a more upbeat pop-style than Sia's previous downbeat albums, whilst show-casing Sia's vocals on a number of big ballads. Non-single track, "Buttons", received attention due to its video in which Sia's face is distorted by pegs, string, net, condoms and many other things. The album debuted at number 26 on the US Billboard 200 chart which became Sia's first album to chart on the Billboard 200 in her career.

Sia talks about the inspiration for the album's name: "During recording people would come in and complain about traffic, and I'd say, 'Some people have real problems.' Like, they're waiting for a lung or they don't have a mum," she says. "I thought it would be a funny name for an album. And then I thought if I were to get rich and successful I would remember to not turn into an asshole. But I am one, so it didn't work."

Some People Have Real Problems received generally favorable reviews from music critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalised rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 64, based on 20 reviews. Reviewers such as Rolling Stone and The Guardian were highly critical of the album, each awarding the album only 2 out of 5 stars. Other reviewers, however, such as Allmusic and Slant (both of who awarded the album 4.5 out of 5 stars) and Entertainment Weekly (who gave the album an "A-") were highly positive towards the album.

All track are produced by Jimmy Hogarth
