Bill Curley

William Michael "Bill" Curley (born May 29, 1972) is a retired American professional basketball player, formerly in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is currently head men's coach at Emerson College.

A 6'9" power forward born in Boston, Massachusetts with a reputation for being a solid outside shooter in spite of his size, Curley led his Duxbury High School Green Dragons basketball team to a Massachusetts State Championship in 1989. He was selected as a McDonald's All-American in 1990, and was one of the most highly recruited players in the entire country. He was sought after by schools such as Notre Dame, Duke, Villanova, North Carolina and Connecticut.

He chose to accept a scholarship offer from his hometown team, the Boston College Eagles. There, Curley led a renaissance of the school's basketball program. He was the Big East Conference Rookie of the Year in 1991, and was twice selected as a first team All-Big East player.

A four-time team MVP, Curley was the team leader on the 1994 squad which advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA basketball tournament. In 1994 he received the BC "Eagle of the Year" award as the school's top athlete (subsequently inducted into the Boston College Hall of Fame on November 12, 2006). His college coach, Jim O'Brien called him "...one of the best players ever at Boston College."

Wardell Stephen "Dell" Curry I (born June 25, 1964) is an American former professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1986 until 2002. He retired as the Charlotte Hornets' all-time leader in points (9,839) and three-point field goals made (929). Curry currently works as a color commentator, alongside Eric Collins and Stephanie Ready, on Charlotte Hornets television broadcasts. He is the father of current NBA players Stephen Curry and Seth Curry.

Curry was raised in Grottoes, Virginia. He played basketball at Fort Defiance High, where he used his coach's barn to practice shooting daily. He finished as the all-time leading scorer in school history, and was named a McDonald's All-American in 1982. Curry also played baseball, and won state championships in both sports. He was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 1982 MLB draft.

Curry was a four-year starter at Virginia Tech along with contemporaries Bobby Beecher, Perry Young, Al Young, and Keith Colbert. The team appeared in the 1983 and 1984 NIT tournaments, finishing third in 1984. Although the team qualified for at-large bids to the NCAA tournament in 1985 and 1986, it lost in the first round on both occasions. In 1986, Curry was named the Metro Conference Player of the Year. NCAA basketball did not feature a three-point line during Curry's collegiate career; his accurate long-range shooting was not rewarded, as it would be later in his NBA career.

Eddy Anthony Curry, Jr. (born December 5, 1982) is an American former professional basketball player. Coming directly out of Thornwood High School in South Holland, Illinois, Curry was selected fourth overall in the 2001 NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls. Curry played for the Bulls until 2005, then played for the New York Knicks from 2005 to 2010. Curry played for the Miami Heat in the 2011–12 season and was part of the Heat's 2012 championship team. Curry played for the Dallas Mavericks for the early part of the 2012–13 season before playing out the season for the Zhejiang Golden Bulls of the Chinese Basketball Association.

Prior to becoming considered one of the best high school basketball players in the nation as a senior at Thornwood High School in South Holland, Illinois, Curry aspired to be a gymnast and did not pick up basketball until the seventh grade when he reluctantly went out for the school team. In 2001, Curry led his team to second place in the IHSA State Playoffs. For his efforts, Curry was named 2001 Illinois Mr. Basketball. He was named to the 1998, 1999 and 2000 State Farm Holiday Classic all-tournament teams, and in 2003 was named by the fans to the tournament's All-Quarter Century Team.

Curry had signed a letter of intent to play at DePaul University but declared himself eligible for the 2001 NBA Draft in which the Chicago Bulls made him the fourth overall pick.

Ronald Antonio Curry (born May 28, 1979) is a former American football wide receiver and current offensive assistant coach with the New Orleans Saints. He was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the seventh round of the 2002 NFL Draft after playing college football at North Carolina.

Curry was also briefly a member of the Detroit Lions and St. Louis Rams.

Curry was born in Hampton, Virginia. At Hampton High School in Hampton, Virginia, Curry was an All-American in basketball and football and was awarded the Dial Award for the national high-school scholar-athlete of the year in 1997. He won the McDonald's Slam Dunk contest and was MVP of the McDonald's All-American game. By most reports, his high school football coach favored Curry attending the University of Virginia and focusing on football, while his high school basketball coach favored the University of North Carolina to develop Curry into a prospect for the NBA. He verbally committed to play both basketball and football to Virginia before signing instead with rival North Carolina. This made him a very unpopular figure among Virginia fans, who referred to him by such terms as "Benedict Curry", "Benedict Ronald", or "WHN" (an abbreviation of "What's his name?"), and voted to make him the "Sports Jerk of the Year" in the Tank McNamara comic strip. Coincidentally, Curry's cousin Almondo "Muffin" Curry, a cornerback, later decided to attend Virginia.

Quintin Dailey

Quintin "Q" Dailey (January 22, 1961 – November 8, 2010) was an American professional basketball player. A 6'3" guard who played collegiately at the University of San Francisco, he later went on to a career in the NBA, playing for the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Clippers, and Seattle SuperSonics over the course of his 10-year tenure in the league.

Dailey was born on January 22, 1961, in Baltimore and was a schoolboy star at Cardinal Gibbons School. Heavily recruited out of high school, Dailey chose to attend the University of San Francisco from among the 200 colleges that pursued him and play for the school's basketball team. Dailey scored 1,841 points during his collegiate career, averaging 20.5 points per game. The 755 points he scored during his third and final year at USF, averaging 25.2 points per game, broke the team record that had been held by Bill Cartwright.

In February 1982, Dailey was arrested for sexually assaulting a female resident assistant two months earlier. He pleaded guilty in June to a lesser charge of attempted assault, receiving three years' probation. During the investigation, Dailey admitted to accepting $5,000 for a no-show job at a business owned by a prominent USF non-sports donor. A month later, university president the Rev. John Lo Schiavo announced that he was shutting down the basketball program. USF had been on NCAA probation twice in recent years, and LoSchiavo called the revelation about Dailey's no-show job "the last straw." The program wouldn't return until 1985. Four days after his guilty plea, the Bulls selected Dailey as the seventh overall pick in the 1982 NBA draft.

Bradley Lee Daugherty (born October 19, 1965) is an American retired basketball player, analyst, and co-owner of Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series team JTG Daugherty Racing. He played college basketball at the University of North Carolina and professionally with the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Daugherty played basketball at Charles D. Owen High School in Black Mountain, North Carolina, where he led the Warhorses to the 1982 state finals. Daugherty accepted a scholarship to play at the University of North Carolina under legendary college basketball coach Dean Smith.

Daugherty was one of the greatest big men ever to play at the University of North Carolina. He entered college as a 16-year-old freshman and was a two-time All-ACC first team selection, and a first team All-American in 1986. He was named to the ACC 50th Anniversary men's basketball team in 2002 and was inducted into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame. Daugherty averaged more than twenty points per game in his senior season.

Daugherty was taken as the first overall pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 1986 NBA draft. Cleveland had obtained the rights to the first pick in a trade with the Philadelphia 76ers for Roy Hinson and cash. The Cavaliers also drafted Ron Harper with the eighth pick in the 1986 draft and obtained the rights to Mark Price (in a trade with the Dallas Mavericks) the 25th pick (second round). Harper, Price and Daugherty, along with fellow rookie John "Hot Rod" Williams immediately began to pay dividends for Cleveland. Daugherty, Williams, and Harper were all named to the 1986–87 All-Rookie team.

Ed Davender (May 26, 1966 – April 28, 2016) was a former American basketball player. He was a noted streetballer, who was an elite NYC guard. He was considered to be the best NYC shooting guard throughout High School. Initially he played at Alexander Hamilton High School (New York). He was a McDonalds All American while playing for Boys and Girls High School Ed played for the University of Kentucky Wildcats and was drafted by the NBA in the 3rd round. He was drafted with the third overall pick in the 1999 NBA draft by the Charlotte Hornets. Davis was born in Los Angeles and grew up in the South Central area. His grandmother and guardian, Lela Nicholson, was instrumental in pushing him to play basketball. With her encouragement, he eventually enrolled at Crossroads School, a prestigious private school in Santa Monica.

As a senior at Crossroads, Davis led his team to the championship of The Beach Ball Classic tournament in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina over perennial prep powerhouse Christ The King Regional High School (Queens, New York), while earning MVP honors and a spot on the All-Tournament team along with future St. John's standout Erick Barkley at that prestigious event. That year, Davis was also named Gatorade National Player of the Year and a Parade All-American. He was also selected to play in the prestigious McDonald's All-American High School Basketball Game in Colorado Springs in 1997, playing with future NBA players Elton Brand, Shane Battier, Larry Hughes and Ron Artest, and winning the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest despite being the smallest man in the competition at 6'2".

Ben Davis (basketball)

Ben Jerome Davis (born December 26, 1972) is an American former professional basketball player who played with the NBA's Phoenix Suns and New York Knicks. Davis attended Oak Hill Academy, Kansas University, the University of Florida, Hutchinson Community College, and the University of Arizona and played collegiately at all, except for Florida. In his one season at Hutchinson in 1994, Davis led team to the NJCAA championship.

Davis was selected 43rd overall in the 1996 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns but played in the CBA in 1996-97 instead. As well as playing with the Suns and the New York Knicks during his short NBA career, Davis was also signed by the Miami Heat and Houston Rockets, but never played a game for either.

Davis last played in 2009 for Lechugueros de León in Mexico.
