Yanqing District (simplified Chinese: 延庆区; traditional Chinese: 延慶區; pinyin: Yánqìng Qū) is a subdivision of the municipality of Beijing located northwest of the city proper of Beijing. The county consists of 11 towns and 4 rural townships.

The district has an area of 1,992 km2 (769 sq mi) and a population of 275,433 (2000 Census). The district contains many ancient tombs and caves, as well as the popular Badaling section of the Great Wall.

The urban area of Yanqing (87,891 in township) has an area of 9.8 km2 (3.8 sq mi) and an estimated population of 100,000.[1]
