Wishek (/ˈwɪʃᵻk/ WISH-ik) is a city in McIntosh County, North Dakota, in the United States. The population was 1,002 at the 2010 census.
Wishek was platted in 1898 when the railroad was extended to that point. A post office has been in operation at Wishek since 1898. The city was named in honor of John H. Wishek, Sr., a local cattleman. Wishek was originally built up chiefly by Germans from Russia.
