Walnut Springs is a city located in Bosque County in Central Texas. The population was 827 at the 2010 census.

Walnut Springs is located at 32°3′30″N 97°44′57″W / 32.05833°N 97.74917°W / 32.05833; -97.74917 (32.058353, -97.749190).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.3 square miles (3.4 km2), all of it land.

As of the census of 2000, there were 755 people, 262 households, and 190 families residing in the city. The population density was 566.4 people per square mile (219.2/km²). There were 312 housing units at an average density of 234.1/sq mi (90.6/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 87.95% White, 1.32% Native American, 8.08% from other races, and 2.65% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 28.08% of the population.

There were 262 households out of which 35.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.9% were married couples living together, 9.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.1% were non-families. 24.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.88 and the average family size was 3.46.
