WKEI (1450 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a News/Talk format. Licensed to Kewanee, Illinois, United States, the station serves the Quad Cities area. The station is currently owned by Randall J. Miller's Virden Broadcasting Corp.
Miller announced the sale of WKEI, along with sister stations WJRE and WYEC, to the cluster's sales manager Fletcher Ford, on November 30, 2012. That sale is expected to close in first quarter 2013, pending FCC approval.
The station provided the town with its first local radio signal. WKEI is now a news/talk radio station, a CBS Radio affiliate and home to syndicated talk show hosts Mike Huckabee, Hugh Hewitt and Jim Bohannon. WKEI is also the Kewanee affiliate for St. Louis Cardinals NFL Football and The Illini.
