WHP (580 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to serve Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The station is owned by iHeartMedia and broadcasts a talk radio format. The station's transmitter and six tower (directional) antenna array are located in East Pennsboro Township near Enola, Pennsylvania. WHP's signal is non-directional during daytime hours and is directed southeastward toward Harrisburg and Lancaster at night.

WHP uses HD Radio on its AM signal only during daytime hours. However, the station's programming is also available to listeners with an HD Radio receiver via a simulcast 24 hours a day on the HD2 subchannel of FM sister station WRVV.

In a Harrisburg Telegraph article dated 15 June 1932, Colonel E. J Stackpole asserted that the State Police owned and operated station WBAK. WHP and WBAK shared the 1430 kilohertz frequency and hence WHP could not be a full-time station.

In a Harrisburg Telegraph article dated January 26, 1933, the state withdrew its objections and WHP was granted ful time operation.

On April 28, 1934 the Federal Radio Commission granted WHP full-time operation (6 am to 1 am).

WHP moved from 1430 to 1460 on March 29, 1941. On that day 795 US radio stations moved frequency. This was done as the result of an international conference in Havana with representatives from Canada, US, Mexico, Cuba, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic. A smaller reallocation had been done in 1928.

WHP was assigned to 580 kHz on December 19, 1949 in a move from 1460.

WHP also provides news to sister stations WRVV, WRBT, WHKF, WKBO, WLAN-FM, WLAN (AM), and WAEB (AM).
