Verkhneuralsky District (Russian: Верхнеура́льский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the twenty-seven in Chelyabinsk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the west of the oblast. The area of the district is 3,510 square kilometers (1,360 sq mi). Its administrative center is the town of Verkhneuralsk. Population: 36,198 (2010 Census); 42,121 (2002 Census);44,470 (1989 Census). The population of Verkhneuralsk accounts for 26.1% of the district's total population.
