Urmia County (Persian: یا به ترکی اورمو شهرستان اورمیه) is a county in West Azerbaijan Province in Iran. The capital of the county is Urmia. At the 2006 census, the county's population was 856,914, in 215,342 families. The county has five cities: Urmia, Qushchi, Silvaneh, Serow, and Nushin. 90% of the population are Azarbaijanis and 10% are Kurdish, Armenian and Assyrian.
