U105 is a Belfast based radio station, providing a mix of music and speech as well as hourly news bulletins. It is owned by Wireless Group and was launched at 6am on Monday 14 November 2005.
U105 broadcasts on 105.8 FM in Belfast and surrounding area, from the Black Mountain transmitting station, located a few miles to the west of Belfast. UTV Media broadcasts the radio station throughout Northern Ireland on its chunk of Freeview's Multiplex 2 (which it shares with Channel 4 and Teletext). It also broadcasts livestream via the Internet.
U105 is also home to some of the most experienced and popular presenters in Northern Ireland, Maurice Jay, (Pleasuredome Musician), Jerry Lang (Biggest Jukebox in The World), Johnny Hero, (Glam Slam singer as well!), Frank Mitchell, (Weatherman extroadinaire), Carolyn Stewart, plus the many excellent presenters who provide a wide range of specialist shows.
