Touro College is a sponsored independent institution of higher and professional education, in New York City, New York, United States. Founded by Bernard Lander, the College was established primarily to enrich the Jewish heritage, and to serve the larger American community. Approximately 18,000 students are currently enrolled in the various schools and divisions that comprise the Touro College and University System.

The system includes Touro College, The Touro College and University System Graduate Division, Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine, and New York Medical College, accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, as well as Touro University California and Touro University Nevada, both of which are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The non-profit online university, Touro University Worldwide (TUW), is also part of the Touro College and University Systems.

In 1970, Rabbi Dr. Bernard Lander, Ph.D., L.H.D., founded Touro College and University System in New York City to strengthen the Jewish heritage and tradition and serve the larger American and worldwide community through high-quality education. Since its inception, the college has demonstrated significant growth. In 1971, the division of health sciences was established, offering upper division studies, leading to a B.S. in Health Sciences and qualifying graduates to practice as Physician Assistants. Two years later, a women’s division was added to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. A school of general studies was also established to serve the city's diverse ethnic communities. In 1977, Flatbush's men's division was established to serve the educational needs and career aspirations of yeshiva students. In 1984, Yeshivas Ohr Hachaim, a full time yeshiva affiliated with Touro, opened in Queens. It is a renowned Talmudic academy for post high school graduates. A law and health sciences; three osteopathic medical schools in California, Nevada, and New York were subsequently organized. The college organized sister institutions in Paris, France,Berlin, Germany,Israel, and Russia (when it was part of the Soviet Union). In 2006, the Israeli Touro college campus turned into an independent institute of higher education recognized by the Council of Higher Education in Israel followed by the name , which provides a number of degrees in subjects such as business, accounting, education and more.
